BANDING TOGETHER @ THE BLACK CAT

ON JUNE 22, 2017, 7pm to the Stroke of Midnight!!

We hope to see you at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street, NW, DC) on June 22, 2017!!  It’s not too late to purchase tickets (just $20 each) right over here.  Tickets at the door are also available on the night of our event.

Check out our 16 law firm bands and vote online for your favorites in advance and during our live concert over here.  The band that raises the most funds will be crowned as the champion.  This is usually a hotly contested competition and the music is fierce.

We hold this event each year to bring together the local DC area legal community for a fun night fundraiser so that GFTH can purchase wholesale bulk essential clothing items to distribute to homeless service providers in the DC area throughout the year.  We’re talking about items that everyone needs, can go through quickly, and are best to receive new, such as underwear, socks, and thermals.  Many homeless service providers throughout the DC area rely upon GFTH each year to provide these necessary items.  So, not only will you have a fab time at our annual concert, but your ticket purchases and votes will go to a great cause.   GFTH is a wholly local volunteer non-profit with overhead costs not deducted from donations, so please know that all of your donations to this event will be used directly by GFTH to purchase and distribute essential clothing items that go to the homeless.

Come join us for a fun time!  Anyone and everyone is welcome — being a lawyer is not a requirement 😉

Thanks for your support and rock on!

GFTH is pleased to announce that the Unnamed Party, the band comprised of members of Arent Fox, Hunton Williams, and Paul Hastings, is the 2016 Banding Together champion!!

This is the third — yes, third! — time that the Unnamed Party has taken top Banding Together honors, and they were also last year’s runner-up. Their music rocked the Black Cat, and the tens of thousands of dollars they raised for GFTH is truly incredible.

Honorable mention goes to Sutherland Comfort, the band including members of Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan, who, after besting the Unnamed Party and taking first-place in 2015, had yet another incredible showing and finished second this year. We hope this fierce competition continues in future events!

In all, Banding Together 2016 was again a resounding success, raising over $230,000 while 16 bands from throughout the legal community rocked the Black Cat’s packed crowd on June 23, 2016. And the hits will keep on coming, as these funds will greatly assist the DC-area’s homeless through GFTH’s purchases of essential clothing items that we will send to shelters and other homeless service providers in our area!! Numerous organizations rely upon GFTH — a non-profit comprised mostly of DC-area legal professionals and no paid staff or overhead — to supply their clothing needs.

Thank you to all who made our annual event a resounding success, and a fun and memorable night for over a thousand attendees. Check out our social media outlets accessible on the right hand side of this home page to see clips of this year’s event.

Finally, a special thanks to all of our 2016 Banding sponsors:
