ONLINE VOTING FOR YOUR FAVORITE BAND(S) IS OPEN UNTIL 11:15 pm EAST COAST TIME ON THURSDAY, JUNE 26TH
Do you love good music in the summer? Would you like to support a great local cause in an easy, quick way? Do you want to donate to an all-volunteer non-profit with heart that helps clothe local people experiencing homelessness with maximum use of your donations?
Lawyers and other legal eagles in the DC metro legal community will take off their ties and suit jackets to be rock stars for one night — Thursday, June 26, 2014 — all in the good spirit of raising funds to enable Gifts for the Homeless to purchase and distribute bulk clothing at low wholesale prices to area homeless shelters and others in tremendous need.
Get a head start now and vote for your favorite band by checking out our CROWDRISE VOTING page with info on all of the participating bands representing a number of law firms and other law-related businesses and organizations in the DC metro area. (Online voting for your favorite band(s) is open until 11:15 pm East Coast Time on Thursday, June 26th)
This charity benefit raised over $277,000 last year and received rave reviews in the press. And 100% of the money received was used to purchase essential clothing items for homeless men, women and children! More information about this year’s event, as well as from prior years (including pics), may be found by checking out our YouTube channel and also right here. As we always say, make sure to vote early and vote often!
Tickets are $10 at the door, or please contact Nancy Johnson for inquiries at email@example.com
DC’s Homeless are waiting for clothing. Gifts for the Homeless will answer that call, but only with your support. Foley & Lardner LLP is here to help with its most excellent band “Speak No Evil” — VOTE/DONATE at www.crowdrise.com/speaksnoevil (don’t forget the extra “s” — that’s what makes them sassy!). Get a taste of the band from checking out a past year’s performance on you tube (the band was formerly known as Jazz Ipsa Loquitur).
Will they be able to stay at the top this year? is the big question that the other 17 bands and Banding Together fans want to know. The Unnamed Party’s members come from triple threat Paul Hastings, Hunton & Williams, and Arent Fox. The Unnamed Party was crowned and bestowed the trophy for the top band of the year at our 2013 charity benefit concert. Head over to their crowdrise page before the show to aid their quest to remain the best of the best and come rock out with them at the big show on Thursday, June 26th at the Black Cat.

Step right up ladies and gentleman, and enjoy the show of One for the Governor, one of the 18 fabulous bands that you will find at Banding Together: Battle of the Law Firm Bands, a charity concert to benefit GFTH at the Black Cat on Thursday, June 26th. One for the Governor returns after a three-year hiatus from Banding Together, and is ready to bring back its infamous eclectic love song acoustic quartet style.
The band’s members come from big law’s Crowell & Morning, Telecommunication Law Professionals, and a GFTH Board member thrown in for good measure (hint: he’s not wearing a button down shirt and he is in the plant in the band pic). Help the band to advance far in the competition by voting in advance on its Crowdrise page and then come cheer them on at the show!
